What inspired you to take part in the Positive Luxury Awards and what does this recognition mean to your brand and team?
As a business, we aspire to hold ourselves accountable to the highest standards of sustainability, ethics, and innovation within our industry. The Positive Luxury awards challenge us to seek outside confirmation that we are delivering against these standards.
Having applied for the past five consecutive years and being honoured each time with an award has been incredibly rewarding and meaningful. This constant recognition solidifies our sustainability commitments and proves that our strategy is deeply embedded in how we operate as a business. For our team, it’s validation of the hard work, passion, and integrity they bring to the business. It motivates us to keep evolving, to stay transparent, and to lead by example.
For our brand, these awards strengthen our trust with our community, customers, and partners. Receiving an award from Positive Luxury affirms that we are on the right path, while reminding us that there is always more to do.
How does sustainability influence your business decisions and why is taking action so important to you?
Sustainability is not just an initiative for Monica Vinader. It is a core belief that guides every business decision we make. From sourcing and product development to partnerships and long-term strategy, we consider the social and environmental impact alongside our performance and growth. We are continuously looking for ways to not only reduce our footprint but to have a positive impact on the suppliers, partners, people and communities we work with.
Taking action is important to us because we recognise the responsibility that comes with being a business in today’s world. The challenges facing our planet and society are real and urgent. We believe that it’s our job to contribute positively, set higher standards for all businesses, not just those in our industry, and prove that sustainability and business success can go hand in hand.
Following a challenging couple of years for many businesses, how have you upheld your dedicated approach to positive change and resilience as core pillars of your Strategy?
Over the past few years, maintaining our commitment to sustainability has required both discipline and adaptability. Rather than stepping back in times of uncertainty, we used them as a way to guide how we navigate change and make decisions. We focused on deepening relationships with our trusted partners, refining our operations to be more efficient and responsible. At the same time, we remained agile by continuously reassessing our approach, embracing innovation, and finding new ways to deliver in an ever shifting environment.
How has your sustainability journey built trust with your consumers and added value for your internal teams?
Our sustainability journey has played a significant role in building trust with our customers by demonstrating consistency, transparency, and accountability over time. Our long-term commitment and external recognition have helped reinforce that we are serious about delivering on our promises.
One of the most standout initiatives that has directly built trust with our consumers is “Product Passport”; our transparency program which delivers full traceability, allowing customers to trace 78% of our pieces from raw material through their lifecycle ending at consumers’ doorsteps. Our customers want to understand not just what we offer as a brand, but how we truly commit to our promises and communicate our results against them.
For our internal teams, our passion for delivering against sustainability has created a strong sense of purpose and alignment across our teams. Our sustainability ambitions are great motivators for collaboration and innovation. Our teams are eager to continue to make a positive impact and take pride in their work.
For leaders who want to create lasting value and build trust, what would you say is possible when sustainability is treated as an investment?
When sustainability is treated as an investment, it becomes a powerful tool that leads to long-lasting value and trust. Sustainability at the core of a business builds a strong foundation. It allows brands to make more strategic decisions that lead to development and growth. The trust you build with your customers and internal teams will only continue to grow in the long term when you set goals, meet those goals, and keep pushing past them.
