2023 will be a revolutionary year for luxury sustainability. As definitions of best practice continue to evolve at light speed, we will enter into a new era of accountability, innovation, and action. The Positive Luxury awards recognise the organisations driving this change – the organisations that go beyond compliance and shape a more sustainable future for us all.

 

Like our proprietary ESG+ assessment, the awards are unique in their focus on innovation in the luxury industry and they celebrate the full supply chain – from material suppliers and manufacturers, to brands and retailers. Judged by an independent panel that represents a cross-section of experts including academics, retailers, and industry executives, the awards are an opportunity for organisations to be recognised for their positive action, celebrate their inspirational peers, and build their profile as a leader in sustainability. Previous award winners include Bamford, Belvedere Vodka, and Monica Vinader.

Environmental Innovator of the Year

 

This award recognises entrepreneurs, developers, agencies, suppliers, brands and other organisations that have demonstrated technological innovation within an environmental sustainability initiative or project. Positive Luxury believe innovation is challenging the status quo within an industry and delivering significant and measurable improvements to the environment and society.

Achievements must be in the last 12 months.

Social Innovator of the Year

 

This category rewards organisations within the luxury space that have shown strong leadership and that operate as a force for good. They will be recognised for uplifting underrepresented communities, for driving social change, and for making the luxury world a more equitable place.

This organisation needs to have been fully operational for over 12 months.

Material & Manufacturing Innovation of the Year

 

The Positive Luxury Material or Manufacturing Innovation provides positive impact through one or more areas of a material supplier or manufacturing business: from design, research and development, production, supply chain and logistics management through to end-of-life management. A case study in creativity and disruptive innovation, the benefits of the innovation to the environment and society are tangible and extend throughout the value chain to luxury brands and consumers.
Achievements must be in the last 12 months

Product Innovation of the Year

 

The Positive Luxury Product Innovation of the Year is awarded to a product that is driving genuine change across all aspects of the ESG+ (Environmental, Social, Governance, and Innovation) criteria in the Luxury sector.

This product or service will be best in class, inspiring other products in its category to be better and do better.

Innovation must have been operational for 12 months

Breakthrough Business of the Year

 

This award recognises young companies that are playing a leading role in driving innovation in sustainability with clear purpose beyond profit. This could be through the development of new products and services and/or pioneering sustainable business and operating models. The judges are looking for quantifiable impact and commitment to the key areas of holistic sustainability: environmental, social and governance.

This business must have an annual turnover of under £1million and trading for less than five years.

Responsible Luxury Business of the Year

 

This award is for the luxury business we deem to have achieved more than any other reshaping its business model toward a fully sustainable one in the last 12 months. They will have fully embedded sustainability into their end-to-end business operations and it will be apparent in all aspects of their business – from product design to supply chain, packaging to ethical social practices. They will be able to demonstrate how their business has had a measurable positive impact on nature, people and profit, and how they have actively sought to create a business model that is an inspiration to others.

Achievements must be within the last 12 months
