Ian Wood

Ian Wood is an independent consultant specialising in sustainability strategy development and reporting.

He spent over 25 years in the corporate world, working in the areas of corporate sustainability reporting, environmental management, digital inclusion and supply chain.

His focus areas are, advice and management – sustainability strategy, materiality assessment, target setting, policy development, ESG disclosure. Sustainability reporting – strategy, benchmarking, content development and alignment with external standards and frameworks.

His primary interest lies in the role of business in the low carbon economy. He has investigated the environmental and social impacts of digital working, undertaking longitudinal studies into the use of conferencing and remote working solutions at business and national levels.

Ian has been a member of; the CBI working group on Carbon Reporting, the AccountAbility Technical Committee and a contributor to EU supported projects investigating the role of ICT in the digital economy (Digital Futures, SusTel). Ian is currently a member of the Climate Disclosure Standards Board (CDSB) technical working group.
