REAL CHANGE IN ACTION

SDG ALIGNMENT

Throughout their assessment, Studio Tondini conducted an SDG alignment analysis, helping the brand align its operations with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This process allowed Studio Tondini to identify the SDGs most relevant to its core activities, pinpoint risks, and recognise opportunities for sustainable growth. By understanding these key areas, Studio Tondini was able to set measurable targets and goals in line with the 2030 Agenda. To support Goal 12, Ensure Sustainable Consumption and Production Patterns, Studio Tondini is looking to offer repair and rental services to further aid existing efforts to eliminate all plastics from packaging, and introduce at least five new materials with increased sustainability characteristics, such as recyclability.

SUSTAINABLE PROCUREMENT

Studio Tondini established clear sourcing KPIs to enhance its sustainable sourcing strategy when acquiring new suppliers. These KPIs include evaluating certifications that ensure responsible and ethical practices, assessing the composition and origin of raw materials to guarantee quality and sustainability, and ensuring the recyclability of materials to minimise environmental impact. Furthermore, Studio Tondini developed a comprehensive Supplier Code of Conduct, outlining the standards it expects suppliers to adhere to while collaborating. This code emphasises fair labour practices, ensuring the ethical treatment of workers, compliance with health and safety regulations to maintain secure working environments, and a strong commitment to environmental responsibility. By setting these measurable standards, Studio Tondini aligns its sourcing decisions with its sustainability goals, promoting transparency and accountability within its supply chain.

CLIMATE

Although Studio Tondini currently operates a very short supply chain in Italy, it acknowledges the critical importance of understanding its carbon footprint and setting reduction targets for carbon emissions. In response, Studio Tondini developed a Climate Action Policy outlining steps for measuring and reducing emissions across its value chain. This policy follows a plan, act, check, and correct approach, covering Scope 1, Scope 2, and selected Scope 3 emissions. The initial focus is on key products, ensuring targeted efforts in reducing the most impactful areas.

A WORD FROM THE FOUNDER

Since a very early age, my family taught me that the value and beauty of any human work lies in the profound care applied to every gesture. Only this can generate a lasting sense of fulfilment and meaning. These teachings led me to pursue a fulfilling career as a lawyer between Milan, London, and Zurich. Then, almost spontaneously, Studio Tondini emerged from the stories surrounding the finest Made in Italy creations once sold through my family’s boutiques, together with the needs shared daily by highly committed professional women around the world.

PATHWAY TO HIGHER STANDARDS

Studio Tondini will be communicating its novel comprehensive framework of written policies across all stakeholders. Furthermore, it will undertake steps to measure and reduce its emissions while continuing to keep a short supply chain in Italy, explore revolutionary natural materials and additional charity projects.
