JEWELLERY & WATCHES

ANGARA

Founded in 2022, Angara is a purpose-driven, vertically integrated fine jewellery brand that specialises in custom, made-to-order jewellery with zero excess inventory. With production based in Bangkok, Thailand and an online retail presence in the UK, the brand combines ethical sourcing and traceable gemstones with heritage craftsmanship and exceptional design. Angara is built on the belief that true luxury is personal, but must never come at the expense of another. By respecting every artisan in the supply chain and prioritising more sustainable practices, the brand remains committed to creating jewellery that fosters a positive impact for people, the planet, and future generations.

SUSTAINABILITY PURPOSE

Angara UK believes that true luxury should never come at the expense of people or the planet. Through its three core pillars – Social Impact, Environment, and Economic Integrity – they are working to build a more responsible jewellery industry from the inside out. From ensuring fair wages and dignified working conditions across their supply chain, to embracing more sustainable and recycled materials, to offering full transparency on sourcing and certification, every decision is guided by the belief that beautiful jewellery and positive impact should go hand in hand. Their made-to-order approach means each piece is crafted with intention, reducing waste and ensuring nothing is made without purpose. By aligning with recognised industry frameworks such as the Responsible Jewellery Council standards, the Kimberley Process, and science-based climate targets, Angara UK is committed to holding itself accountable – not just to its customers, but to the communities and ecosystems that make its craft possible. For Angara UK, sustainability isn't a destination – it's a promise they're building on every day.

REAL CHANGE IN ACTION

CLIMATE

Angara is taking action to reduce its carbon footprint through robust internal policies and procedures designed to embed environmental responsibility across its operations. The brand has established a comprehensive environmental code of conduct alongside an energy reduction declaration, ensuring that climate-related commitments are not only articulated but actively governed internally. Together, these frameworks provide a structured foundation for measuring, managing, and minimising Angara's environmental impact over time.

DIVERSITY, EQUALITY & INCLUSION

Angara recognises that a diverse and inclusive workforce is fundamental to building a resilient and forward-thinking organisation. The brand has developed a comprehensive DEI strategy and supporting policy framework to ensure that principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion are embedded across all levels of the business, from recruitment and retention to day-to-day culture. Through this structured approach, Angara demonstrates an ongoing commitment to fostering a workplace where all individuals are valued, heard, and empowered to contribute.

SUSTAINABILITY PURPOSE

Angara's sustainability purpose is anchored in a holistic vision that integrates economic, environmental, social, and innovative considerations into its core business strategy. Rather than treating sustainability as a peripheral concern, the brand has positioned it as a central pillar of its identity, ensuring that impact is pursued across multiple dimensions simultaneously. This multi-faceted approach reflects Angara's ambition to create long-term value, not only for its business and customers, but for the communities and ecosystems it operates within.

A WORD FROM THE FOUNDER

Our families have been in the gemstone trade for 400 years — every stone we source at Angara comes from partners we've known for generations, and mines that adhere to the highest ethical standards, not anonymous supply chains. Three years ago, we made the deliberate decision to introduce lab-grown gems — not as a trend, but as a conviction. When you pair that kind of choice with our made-to-order model, it reflects a principle I've always believed in: the future of luxury isn't choosing between beauty and responsibility. It's refusing to separate them."

WHY POSITIVE LUXURY?

We recognise that sustainability is a journey of constant evolution, and this assessment provides us with a vital, honest lens to sharpen our impact. Our made-to-order model remains central to our mission as it minimises waste whilst safeguarding the artisans behind our work. As we remain committed to it, we want to consciously bridge the gap between where we excel and where we must push harder. Beyond the rigorous standards, Positive Luxury connects us with a community of peers and provides a transparent platform to share our commitment to integrity and care with our customers, suppliers, and team.

PATHWAY TO HIGHER STANDARDS

Progress is a journey, and Angara UK is committed to pushing further. Whether it's reaching 80% more sustainable materials by 2029, achieving 100% more sustainable packaging by 2028, or submitting their emissions reduction targets to the SBTi in line with the Paris Agreement, there's plenty more to come. Angara is also working toward 100% clean energy in lab-grown gemstone processing by 2028 and net-zero across its operations and supply chain by 2050. For Angara UK, every milestone is simply the foundation for the next.
