Cécile Lochard

Cécile Lochard is the author of the reference work “Luxury and Sustainable development: the new alliance”, a book issued in France in 2011 on the luxury sector towards corporate and social responsibility. She created Citizen Luxury in 2010, a consulting firm carrying out strategic activities in responsible luxury and philanthropy. She was appointed in 2015 Head of Communication & Sustainable Development for CHA LING, new cosmetics House inspired by an ecological dream (LVMH Group) and early 2019 Head of Sustainability Communications of GUERLAIN. Otherwise she dedicated herself to conferences on sustainable luxury strategies and teaching.

Previously she practiced in socially responsible investment at HSBC Asset Management and then at WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) as Head of Philanthropy in charge of luxury and environmental questions. She is also an international speaker and a teacher in luxury MBA, fashion schools and in Sciences Po Paris for the new Master in Luxury.
She chaired the annual Prize, Women and Sustainable development, and is Member of the board of several ethics committees and charitable initiatives such as Sustainable Brands Paris, Art for Change 21 and TAAC (The Animal Alliance Channel) on animal intelligence.

The book, “Sustainable Luxury” was the first to make a direct link between luxury and sustainable development, aiming to answer the question: “how can the luxury industry systematically integrate sustainable development?” through pragmatic, constructive, optimistic, and non-militant approach.
