. . .
What three things do you think make a great leader?
An unrivalled belief in yourself and a passion for your brand that will inspire customers, employees and possibly even investors. Every day should be about building and continuously improving the culture within your organisation. Culture should be about creating a positive environment to work but also creating a culture of performance that everyone can feed off. Be decisive in your decision-making and don’t be afraid to make the difficult decisions – as the late Steve Jobs said “If you want to make everyone happy, don’t be a leader, sell ice cream!”.

What three things would the people around you say make you a great leader?
The Lisa Franklin brand I have created can truly change lives. My belief, vision and passion for the brand I believe motivates my team to perform to the best of their abilities and why they are proud to be part of the Lisa Franklin team. I have a very clear vision for the Lisa Franklin brand and what it represents in the luxury skin care industry. We have created a luxury in-clinic skin care journey for our clients and I am not prepared to compromise on this because ensuring they have a positive experience with us is fundamental to everything I’m trying to achieve with the brand.
What is the toughest lesson you learnt?
It takes time to build a great team around you so invest the appropriate amount of time recruiting and building your team. The cost of getting it wrong is much higher than the upfront investment. There are only so many hours in the day so focus on a smaller number of projects or ideas that can have a meaningful impact on your business.

And the most rewarding?
Seeing the results for a clients from our skincare products and services – very little comes close to the experience of a happy client who has experienced a transformation in their skin and with our help achieved a cosmetic goals. Seeing the enjoyment my team at Lisa Franklin get from working with our brand and the long term relationships they build with their clients.
What is the one piece of advice you wish you had been given early on in your career?
If you have the entrepreneurial flair, take a little more risk earlier on in your career to pursue your dreams. Making a difference is so much easier than you think. Just pay attention to the detail.
What is your immediate focus for creating positive change as a leader?
Positive change comes from the collective contribution of everyone and although there have been big steps in the last few years there is still much to be done. My current focus is currently on mentoring my team to make better decisions and choices that impact positive change.
And your long-term goals?
We want to create an international brand that is recognised by our clients across the globe. We are currently only in London but have plans to scale the business across several countries over the coming years. We want the Lisa Franklin brand to be synonymous with luxury wellness and performance products with sustainable ethically sourced ingredients.
