REAL CHANGE IN ACTION
SUSTAINABLE PROCUREMENT
Skincycles’ sustainable procurement policy applies to all suppliers, contractors, and business partners, mandating strict adherence to ethical labour and environmental standards. The policy includes a zero-tolerance stance on forced labour, child labour, and hazardous working conditions. Suppliers must provide safe, healthy workplaces and comply with minimum age laws. Regular audits and compliance monitoring are asked of signatories. The policy also prioritises eco-friendly sourcing, favouring renewable and recycled materials, and suppliers must meet strict environmental standards for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and water usage. As part of its procurement strategy, Skincycles obtains proof of commitment to ISO standards from its key suppliers, including on occupational health & safety, quality management, environmental management, energy management, and good manufacturing practices.
ANIMAL WELFARE
Skincycles is cruelty free and testing free as is evidenced by its PETA global beauty without bunnies programme membership. It has been granted PETA’s global animal test-free and vegan classification which recognises companies and brands that have verified that they and their suppliers do not conduct, commission, pay for, or allow any tests on animals for their ingredients, formulations or finished products and commit to never doing so. It also means that Skincycles’ entire product line is free from animal-derived ingredients. Thus, its Tier 1 suppliers are signatories to the Codes of Conduct and Animal Welfare Policy, requiring them to provide evidence and to maintain compliance.
PROHIBITION OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS
Skincycles requires its key suppliers to comply with its Restricted Substances List (RSL) and mandates full disclosure of substances used in their materials, ensuring adherence to REACH and GB PIC regulations. The company guarantees that none of its products contain restricted substances under Annex XVII of REACH above the specified limits, including carcinogenic, mutagenic, and reprotoxic (CMR) substances or persistent, bio accumulative, and toxic (PBT) substances. Skincycles also strictly prohibits the use of microbeads in any of its products. Furthermore, Skincycles ensures ongoing training for employees involved in product development and regulatory compliance to meet RSL and regulatory requirements.
