REAL CHANGE IN ACTION
ORGANISATIONAL GOVERNANCE
JORO places sustainable procurement, responsible packaging, and strong stakeholder engagement at the core of its business strategy. The company prioritises packaging functionality and circularity by offering customers reusable cotton cloth bags for bedding storage and choosing recycled and biodegradable materials wherever possible. Stakeholder engagement is embedded in JORO’s management approach, enabling better-informed decision-making, stronger relationships with suppliers and partners, and enhanced trust and reputation in the market. By actively listening to and collaborating with stakeholders, the company also unlocks new opportunities for innovation. JORO’s focus on sustainable procurement strengthens its ability to manage risks related to environmental and social regulations, supply chain disruptions, and evolving customer expectations. At the same time, it drives innovation by encouraging suppliers to develop more sustainable product offerings, supporting Joro Home’s competitive advantage in the marketplace.
HAZARDOUS MATERIALS
JORO is dedicated to achieving excellence in safety, health, and environmental performance across all its operations and products. The company strives to protect the environment of the communities where it operates, as well as the wellbeing of employees and end users. JORO communicates this commitment to its suppliers through its policy on the chemical composition of products and packaging, ensuring the protection of human health and the environment. This document outlines JORO’s expectations for all stakeholders involved in the production and manufacturing of its articles, reinforcing trusted partnerships with suppliers. JORO requires that all suppliers comply with relevant chemical safety regulations, including the European Union REACH and UK REACH regulations, California Proposition 65, and applicable Chinese GB National Standards. The company is also committed to the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) initiative, promoting sustainable chemical management practices throughout its supply chain to achieve environmental excellence. This commitment is further supported by JORO’s use of certified materials such as GOTS-certified organic cotton, which ensures healthier soil, eliminates synthetic chemicals, promotes responsible water use, and ensures proper wastewater treatment.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
JORO is committed to robust people management practices, supported by a comprehensive employee handbook that outlines clear initiatives to prevent discrimination. The company firmly believes that discrimination has no place in the workplace and, while equal opportunity has always been central to its employment approach, JORO has now formally adopted an equal opportunities policy. Recruitment and selection play a vital role in upholding this policy. Through targeted training, JORO ensures that those involved in hiring decisions are equipped to avoid discrimination, both consciously and unconsciously. The organisation fosters a culture of openness and transparency among managers, employees, and all business partners. It recognises that honest and effective communication is key to addressing any concerns about policy breaches and is essential for the continued success of the organisation.
