Miller Harris

Miller Harris tell contemporary urban stories through complex fragrances. Starting with nature, they source Jasmine from Egypt, iris from Florence and other precious botanicals that are blended in complex and unconventional ways. Honouring nature, they source the finest raw materials and preserve the delicacy of their ingredients; curating, combining and harmonising them to create perfumes that combine Parisian elegance with London’s eclectic street styles.

English founder Lyn Harris spent five years training in Paris, then in Grasse. Following this, Lyn founded Miller Harris Perfumer London in 2000. Lyn left in 2012, yet Miller Harris’ signature style remains defined by a love of naturals and telling stories through scent.
Earth-friendly practices are weaved into the brand to echo this passion and respect for nature. The raw materials used in each scent come from sustainably-managed ecosystems, while they are currently running a ‘take back and recycle’ scheme for their bottles. Not only is a sense of responsibility a key ingredient of the product, it is also reflected in their company culture: staff are paid upwards of the local minimum living wage, and it is child and forced labour-free.

Miller Harris briefs perfumers to stimulate them artistically and curate fragrance with stories, such as their latest ‘FORAGE’ 2018 collection, inspired by ingredients that can be found growing wild in London and from going on field trips with foragers and perfumers to some of the city’s secret spaces. From the sharp pink snap of wild rhubarb contrasted with the green intensity of ferns, notes of honey from hives nestling atop the brutalist Royal Festival Hall, stinging nettles springing up from the cracks in pavements or a tiny brave flower which somehow manages to crack the concrete, each ingredient builds as a note in the music of the final fragrance, layering up like like paint on a canvas.

It is this strong bond with their creators, customers, partners and suppliers that is reflected in the end product: scents that are evolved, multi-faceted and artistic.

Miller Harris has been awarded the Butterfly Mark for their measurable impact and company-wide commitments to sustainability.
