Bamford was founded on the belief that we need to be mindful of our connection to the earth – to live consciously, respect nature’s resources and the land that provides for us. The brand believes in slowing down, living in harmony with nature and has sustainability and craftsmanship at its core.

Founded by Carole Bamford, the owner and founder of Daylesford Farm, one of the most sustainable, pioneering organic farms in the UK,  the brand was born out of her belief that what we put on our body is as important as what we put into it through our food.

Everything that Bamford makes and crafts connects them to nature and their surroundings. The brand sources the finest natural, biodegradable fibres and materials for their clothing and homeware collections and turns to the power of natural active botanicals to create their skincare and body ranges. Bamford believes that being sustainable is not a choice; it’s a way of life.

The brand works closely with its suppliers to scrutinise the supply chain and to ensure that it is challenging them every step of the way. It does not undertake mass supply but chooses to order in small quantities and supports families and employees of small scale businesses aiding their continued growth.

The Lady Bamford Charitable Trust is committed to work in partnership with the government and local communities to help people from the most disadvantaged quarters access a better quality of life. In 2001 it was founded with three clear objectives: to improve education, help eradicate poverty, support women and children.

RESPONSIBLE SOURCING & PACKAGING

Bamford aims to use packaging that is recyclable, helps to conserve in forests and reduces the use of single use plastics. As a focus for 2020 they plan to reduce the level of virgin materials in packaging and measure the use of single use plastics. 

Bamford values the importance of sourcing responsibly and uses organic materials and manufacturing processes. The brand adheres to the Oeko-Tex, Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), NaturTextil and the Global Recycle Standard when sourcing its materials. 

ENERGY EFFICIENCY 

Bamford is currently aiming to reduce its carbon footprint  and considers this goal when making decisions for the business. Since 2007, Daylesford Farm has planted 120,000 mixed trees to safeguard future supply and woodland habitats.
