The biomaterial, “Savigne by Planet of the Grapes®,” can be considered an alternative to animal leather as well as a replacement for 100% petroleum-based synthetics. Planet of the Grapes’ sustainability strategy centres on circular, bio-based material innovation – while strengthening regional supply chains, enhancing transparency through traceability tools, and promoting industry-wide change through education and collaboration.
SINGLE MINE ORIGIN GOLD
Single Mine Origin (SMO Gold) is a global responsible gold sourcing standard established in 2017 to address one of the luxury industry’s most persistent challenges: the lack of transparency, traceability and accountability in gold supply chains. SMO Gold provides fully traceable, responsibly sourced gold from a growing community of independently audited gold mines that meet the highest environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards. Unlike traditional gold supply chains, which often lose origin data beyond the refinery, SMO Gold maintains traceability from a single, named mine through refining and into the hands of jewellery and luxury brands. SMO Gold works exclusively with member mines that operate transparently, publish sustainability disclosures, and undergo annual independent audits. The initiative enables luxury brands to source newly mined gold with confidence, backed by verified data on origin, emissions, social impact and governance.
