FERMOIE
Fermoie is a creator of fine fabrics, wallpaper, lampshades and accessories all designed and manufactured entirely in-house using its own proprietary colour-mixing and production techniques. It represents the opposite of, and antidote to ‘throwaway culture’, making products with lasting beauty, using materials and processes that have a lesser impact on the Earth and its resources.
“Whilst beauty is at the centre of our minds in all that we design and manufacture, sitting alongside that is our aim to have a more positive social and environmental impact, treading as lightly as possible on our planet, and looking after our wonderful team, our suppliers and our customers.”
HOUSE OF HACKNEY
Founded in 2011 by Javvy M Royle and Frieda Gormley in Hackney, House of Hackney set out to reintroduce the richness of nature into contemporary interiors. Launching with wallpaper, fabrics and home accessories, the brand challenged the dominance of minimalism through bold botanical prints and layered colour palettes. Conceived as a purpose-led business, House of Hackney blends traditional craftsmanship with modern design while pursuing a regenerative approach to business, creating interiors designed for both emotional longevity and a deeper connection to the natural world.
“We are honoured to have been nominated for Interiors Business of the Year in the Positive Luxury Awards. The natural world has been our design muse since we founded House of Hackney, and with Mother Nature & Future Generations on our board of directors, we take our responsibility very seriously. The planet doesn’t need another interior brand; it needs companies with purpose that authentically use their voice and actions to serve people and planet. So thank you for recognising our work, it truly means the world to us.”
KALDEWEI
KALDEWEI is a German family company that has been creating bathroom solutions combining modern luxury with sustainable thinking, management and action for over 100 years and which is now in its fourth generation. The KALDEWEI portfolio includes bathtubs, shower surfaces and washbasins made from steel enamel, with high-quality surfaces, elegant design, lifelong durability and a circular approach.
“We are truly grateful that Kaldewei has been shortlisted for the Positive Luxury Sustainability Award. This recognition feels especially meaningful as the brand has now achieved its Cradle to Cradle certification – the first sanitaryware company ever to do so. It’s an honour to see Kaldewei’s long-standing commitment to responsible manufacturing and circular design acknowledged at this level.”
ZORDAN
Zordan is a partner for luxury brands for the creation of attractive and more sustainable retail spaces. The brand, which started in Valdagno in 1965, owes its success to an effective business model based not only on the rigorous application of its technical skills but also on the central role of people in its company culture, fostering the development of the local community through educational and aesthetic projects. Sustainability has always been a fundamental value for Zordan; in 2016, the company became a certified B Corp, being counted among businesses that are leading a global movement for an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy.
“We are honoured to be shortlisted for this award. It is a testament to the dedication and commitment of everyone at Zordan. For us, responsible leadership means nurturing a way of doing business that is purposeful, steady and rooted in shared values. Over the years, we have worked to strengthen how we organise our work, invest in people and pursue innovation in every part of our operations. This is not a short-term effort, but a long-term commitment to build an organisation that is resilient, meaningful and future-oriented. Being recognised in this context encourages us to keep pushing forward, to deepen our responsibility, to keep learning and to work together with purpose and integrity.”
