To celebrate Earth Day 2024 Positive Luxury partnered with Cult Mia to bring their Cult Eco values to life with an exclusive edit. The collaboration saw three Butterfly Mark certified fashion brands join the cult – all of whom are meeting the highest standards of environmental sustainability practices, whilst offering see-and-be-seen pieces that don’t compromise on quality. We sat down with Maison Atia to delve into the collaboration – and why they’re excited about the future for sustainable fashion.
. . .
Why did you want to be part of this Cult Mia x Positive Luxury collaboration?
Since its inception, Maison Atia has been environmentally responsible; aiming for and achieving a zero waste business model. We exclusively source upcycled or bio-based and recycled materials, all while donating excess materials to be repurposed or recycled. Positive Luxury has been an important part of our brand since the summer of 2020, it has been an honour to be among the ranks of other notable luxury brands. We share Cult Mia’s mission of setting the standards of fashion and ethics and we couldn’t be happier with this collaboration!
Can you tell us about the products in the selection? How do they align with Cult Eco?
Every item in our selection is either produced from upcycled materials, or made from a bio-based or recycled material. Our bio-based materials, Koba, are made from corn by-product and recycled water bottles. Our rainwear is made from recycled water bottles as well as the lining that you see in each of our coats.

What’s your favourite product in this edit and why?
It’s so hard to pick just one, but our fans have made the Catherine our best seller. Its classic silhouette, whether reversible or lined, is both flattering, timeless and a staple for everyone’s winter wardrobe!
What are you most excited about when it comes to the future of sustainable fashion?
Sustainable materials in the world of fashion are always improving. It’s amazing to see how far things have come in the few short years Maison Atia has existed, and we cannot wait to see what new materials and textures are able to be created. It is particularly interesting to see how various faux furs can be developed in sustainable materials as there is more depth to it than a typical fabric.
What does it mean to you to be part of the Real Changemaker community?
It is an honour to be a part of the Real Changemaker community. From large brands to small, it is great to see so many businesses making a concerted effort to add real value to their brand and make a positive impact in the world of fashion and beyond. It is even more thrilling to be able to do so alongside venerated brands such as Tom Ford Beauty, and our friends at Sonia Petroff. We proudly display the Butterfly Mark on our website knowing that we meet standards of verified innovation and environmental performance.
