We kicked off our new webinar series, The Power Series, in March. Yesterday, our episode, called The Power of Plastic Rehab, went live with insight from three amazing thought leaders. In recognition of Plastic Free July, we discussed why consumers and businesses have an unconscious reliance on plastic. Our panellists, including Founder of Finisterre, Tom Kay; Co-founder of A Plastic Planet, Sian Sutherland; Founder of Ecobooth, Nick Marks will highlight how we can move into plastic rehabilitation while addressing the key issues we face, such as plastic in the ocean, innovation in plastic and the effects of COVID-19.
Diana, asked Sian Sutherland about her business
“We wanted to be a different kind of organisation. she added “3 years ago we decided to create an organisation that owuld really give people choice, and we started with plastic. We work with big companies like Unilever.” she added.
Nick Marksthen, Founder of Ecobooth, followed explaining his business “We use the material that cant be recycled and transform it in pop up shops, stages… We see our roles as helping to clean up from plastic.” he added ”
Tom Kay explained the psychology and idea behind his brand “Bought from my love of the see and create this connection for people with the sea” Tom said. “We are hoping to create a connection for people with the sea, so they get emotive, want to protect it.”
Positive Luxury’s CEO then asked the panellists what would the world look like in the next months and the emerging trends in the industry.
” Some people are trying to make the change happen.” “You have to lead by exemple” Sian added.
The conversation then continued with panelist talking about ways to eliminate plastic and how businesses should approach the issue.
