Plain Jane Events are a female-led creative events agency with over 25 years' experience creating and curating elaborate private parties, immersive product launches and engaging staff events. Their team of planners and creatives work from concept to delivery, ensuring every detail of an event is captured and delivered effortlessly. Plain Jane Events are the team behind stylish Georgian Townhouse, 34 Bloomsbury, an elegant London events space with period features that pays homage to Bloomsbury’s influential and historical women.

SUSTAINABILITY PURPOSE

Plain Jane Events are committed to reimagining events through a sustainable lens. By their nature, events produce excessive waste, much of it single-use. To tackle this, Plain Jane Events is actively engaging suppliers in conversations around circularity, sourcing, and ethics. As such, the company has identified its emissions hotspots and is regularly assessing the materials in events that have negative environmental impacts, seeking out alternatives where they exist. Plain Jane Events aspires to be a shining light in events management to show what’s possible if we collectively step out of the “we have always done it this way” mindset.

A WORD FROM THE FOUNDER

Sustainability has always been a topic close to my heart. In 2010, I became a trustee of the Small Steps Project, a charity which I am extremely proud to be part of and one which has been working tirelessly to tackle the human issues faced by the communities living on landfills around the world. At Plain Jane Events, we don’t want to be part of the problem, we want to part of the solution.

WHERE NEXT?

Plain Jane Events are focusing on materials and supply chain, looking at high emissions aspects of events such as catering, and décor. The company are creating its first impact report with sustainability consultancy, Bold Green Strategies, and will be including Net Zero reductions targets, as well as making key statements around the use of certain materials. Plain Jane Events are working with their supply chain to achieve these targets, as well as working with clients to embrace climate contributions as part of their Jane’s Forest initiative.
