TRAVEL & LEISURE
LUX* LE MORNE MAURITIUS
LUX* Le Morne is a mindful tropical resort on the wild west coast of Mauritius. Blessed with the best sunset of the island, life’s a beach at LUX* Le Morne. The chic and serene boutique resort at the foot of Le Morne mountain calls all lovers of mindful luxury. The postcard beach barely needs an introduction. As for the hotel, it's a gem that not only embodies the spirit of island living- it elevates it.
SUSTAINABILITY PURPOSE
LUX* Le Morne's sustainability purpose is rooted in its pioneering spirit and commitment to creating a more sustainable world. Guided by a holistic approach, we focus on three core pillars: Innovate, Educate, and Collaborate. Innovate: Our journey towards sustainability began with groundbreaking initiatives like the Zero Food Waste policy and the installation of a desalination plant. We continuously seek innovative solutions, such as the upcoming solar panel installation, to reduce our carbon footprint and reliance on precious resources. Our laundry reduction program, fitted with asterisk-shaped pillows in guest rooms, is a testament to our dedication to energy and water conservation. Educate: At LUX* Le Morne, we believe in upskilling our team members and sharing knowledge with our local community. Through orientation programs and ongoing training, we empower our staff to contribute to building a sustainable workplace. We also engage with nearby institutions like Souillac Hospital to foster a culture of sustainability beyond our resort. Collaborate: Collaboration is at the heart of our sustainability efforts. We actively engage with local organizations, schools, and NGOs to extend our impact. Our food waste reduction initiatives, including food donations to disadvantaged children and partnerships with recyclers, showcase our commitment to reducing waste sent to landfills. We also collaborate with initiatives like "Travel Light & Donate" and "Kids Go Green" to involve guests and children in our sustainability journey. LUX* Le Morne's sustainability purpose is not just a commitment; it's a way of life. We are honored to have received awards for our dedication to sustainability, and our five Earths rating by Earthcheck demonstrates our unwavering commitment to environmental and social responsibility. Together, we invest in innovation, educate for change, and collaborate for a better, more sustainable future for all.

A WORD FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER
As the General Manager of LUX* Le Morne, I'm immensely proud of our journey towards sustainability. We pioneered a Zero Food Waste policy, achieving the 'All-Star' rating for the most food waste reduction. Our circular approach is now a case study at the London Business School. But it's not just about reducing waste; we're upskilling our team, sharing knowledge with Souillac Hospital, and embracing water efficiency, laundry reduction, and energy efficiency. In 2023, we'll harness solar energy and promote green mobility. Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond our walls to elders in old-age homes and Earth Hour celebrations with our guests. Travel Light & Donate and Kids Go Green projects invite everyone to join us in caring for our beautiful Earth. We've received awards and the Earthcheck 5 Earths rating for our efforts, and we're dedicated to biodiversity conservation both on land and under water. Say goodbye to single-use plastics when you stay with us. Together, we can create a Life Extraordinary for all ages.
