Currently, the majority of styles are Made within Canada at a female-owned factory in Markham, Ontario, with select styles manufactured in Sedex certified factories in China. Factory partners are selected on environmental impact, employee working conditions and transparency. All factory employees are paid a fair and liveable wage and ensured safe working conditions. MICHI’s factory partners take pride in their craft and execute all designs with attention to detail and precision. They are advocates of mindful consumption, so every garment is constructed to last. With conscious production as one of the brands core values, MICHI is setting a new standard for sportswear.
High-quality materials are sourced to produce products that last. The brand optimizes its design and production to minimize fabric and material waste. The majority of their leggings and bras are created with sustainable, Bluesign® approved and Oeko-Tex® certified textiles. MICHI uses fabrics engineered as smart clothing, designed to withstand wear and tear and for performance enhancement. All textiles approved under the Bluesign® system eliminate harmful substances right from the beginning of the manufacturing process and meet high standards for environmentally friendly and safe production.

Materials certified by the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® undergo extensive product checks to ensure responsible use of chemicals and non-toxic properties. The certification also requires all parts of articles of clothing, including zippers, elastics and trims also meet the required criteria.
MICHI only uses materials that are animal-friendly and cruelty-free. As a company with a vegetarian ethos, they do not use leather, skins, fur or feathers in any of their collections or products. This also includes any materials or substances sourced from endangered species.
Moreover, beginning in 2019, MICHI is updating their packaging to remove poly bags used to ship garments and replacing with reusable and recyclable nylon bags.
In alignment with the brands values of fuelling female confidence and conscious production, MICHI is a contributor and supporter of the global community with charitable give back and projects designed to support women and protect the environment. MICHI is always looking to take part in charitable causes and initiatives.
In February 2018, MICHI contributed a charitable donation to the SA foundation which provides long term housing and training for women and their children, who are escaping human trafficking and sexual exploitation. In November 2018, the brand participated in a Breast Cancer Research and awareness and fundraising event in partnership with Mount Sinai Hospitals Marvelle Koffler Breast Center and Equinox gyms. In 2019, MICHI has chosen to regularly support the Canadian Lung Association via donation and spreading awareness.
