Jon Dibben began on a beach. More importantly, it began with an open-minded young man on a beach, at the culmination of his teenage travels around Europe. The beach was on the Greek island of Naxos; a nudist beach, where Jon lived, in a bamboo hut, for two years. It was a minimal, essential existence, which nurtured in him a value for the natural world around him as well as inspiration for his innate creativity. The outlet for his aptitude was, inevitably, equally minimal, but these first experiments with shells and beads came to fruition with the luxury of time to be as thoughtful and precise as his instinct prompted him to be.
