Campi ya Kanzi

Located at the foot of the legendary Chyulu Hills, Hemingway’s “Green Hills of Africa,” Campi ya Kanzi is a partnership with the Maasai community of Kuku Group Ranch, promoting environmental conservation and sustainable community development through ecotourism.

Campi Ya Kanzi, one of Kenya’s best ecological safari programs, is where safari dreams come true. Based in Kilimanjaro, Campi Ya Knazi is a uniquely authentic experience: you will discover a vanishing Africa, explore an incredible wilderness, see amazing wildlife, while being deeply immersed in a fascinating culture and contributing to preserving it. This is truly the most iconic safari land: Kilimanjaro dominates the view; elephants and lions roam free in true wilderness; giraffes and zebras cover the plains, and Maasai warriors congregate.

The business was built using only sustainable materials collected locally. The business employs locally (90% are local Maasai), pays tourism revenues to the community and supports a community trust. The camp fulfills all water needs through rain cropping and storing it in PVC bladders and only uses renewable energies; photovoltaic panels for electricity and solar boilers for hot water. It was also the first lodge in the 90’s to use UNEP approved eco-friendly charcoal to cook all the food.
