Rachel Bates adds crystalware to her Corali collection

After launching the Corali Jewellery collection this past summer, Rachel Bates is now extending it with a collection of crystalware. As with the collection’s jewellery, these water jugs, glasses and tumblers are all inspired by coral reefs and the rainbow of colours that make up the ecosystems under the sea.

“The problem I’ve always found with today’s water jugs is they’re large, heavy and become even more cumbersome once you fill them,” says Rachel of this collection. “So I wanted to create something which shared the same beauty as my other signature designs but was also a bit more user-friendly.”

Showing off a blend of the classic Edwardian style her mother always favoured, and Rachel’s own signature flare for vibrant colour and design, the crystalware collection is available in 12 different shades, including a bright red, a lime green, ultra violet, and of course, coral. Every piece is engraved with the Corali design, inspired by Rachel’s love for the sea, and a Murano Glass pendant she found in Venice.

“I firmly believe coral designs are timeless and you don’t need to live by the beach to appreciate them,” she says, and suggest that these pieces can be the anchor for an entire room, or a bright pop of colour amongst another theme.

Every piece in the Corali crystalware collection has a story behind it that comes from a person or a place that influenced Rachel. The Bridget Water Jug has her mother’s middle name, and the Charlotte Crystal Water Glasses take their title from a nickname her grandfather gave her mother.

Each of these beautiful pieces is a versatile and fun item that will complement any home and any decor style. They fuse Rachel’s appreciation of the ocean with her love for crystalware, and the result is a unique collection of functional art.
