Sophie Anderson

Born in Kuwait and raised in Oman, Sophie Anderson was introduced to discovery and exploration from a very young age. Her childhood exposed her to a wealth of colour, materials and traditional skills, providing her with the taste and inspiration for sourcing, adapting and styling the unusual.

Sophie first trained in Montessori Education and then as a yoga teacher. She used these skills to travel and teach around the world working in five different countries.

After seven years her profession moved into interior design and styling - where her love of creativity was further developed. It was when she lived in South America, where her first collection was developed.

Sophie’s stunning bag collection is comprised of woven cotton bags, in various shapes and sizes, from the classic shoulder bucket bag to much larger woven shoppers and baskets. Each piece is made with soft lamb's skin handles in classic summertime colours. The collection also includes jewellery, sarongs and super fine cashmere summer scarves which are inspired by ancient designs and flecked with fluoro coral and punchy equatorial acidic hues.

All bags are fair trade and Sophie continues to passionately work directly with the WAYUU weavers in Colombia, who are an indigenous community who spend up to 10 weeks carefully producing each piece.
