ReKixx sneakers was founded in 2009 and is the vision and creation of husband, father and avid recycler, Gary Gagnon. He was taking out the garbage one night and saw several pairs of worn-out shoes in the trash can next to the recycling bin. He thought, “Wouldn’t it be nice if we could recycle our sneakers instead of throwing them in the trash."

Out of that, he created ReKixx which makes 100% recyclable sneakers. Only after extensive research, several material trials, and completed lab tests, that ReKixx created a sneaker with all parts – from laces to sole – that can go back into the recycling process for zero-landfill impact.
