Pulsin’ makes functional snacks using premium whole food ingredients, in their own factory based in Gloucestershire, UK.
Directors Ben, Nick and Simon all met at Bristol University and always talked about one day running a business together. Simon studied French, Nick read Psychology and Ben did Biochemistry. After experimenting with different recipes at university, the seed of Pulsin’ was planted and 10 years later, they’re in the food business together!
Before they came up with the idea to make their own energy snacks, the trio had another business idea which involved running a lunchtime outlet in central London making healthy fast food. The products they created used pulses and grains, hence the name Pulsin’. While the first business didn’t come to fruition, they still kept the name and logo which reflects the balance between a pulse and a grain in harmony. By the time they developed the Energy Bomb!, their first Pulsin’ product, the name Pulsin’ reinforced the concept of energy and momentum, driving factors behind the operation.
Pulsin’ strongly believes in protecting the environment, and minimising their impact where possible. They run the Pulsin’ factory on 100% renewable energy from Ecotricity, an ethical company who reinvests a large proportion of their profits in developing wind turbines to provide more green electricity for the grid.
They ensure suppliers are treated with fairness, respect and integrity. Never compromising on quality, they use the very best natural ingredients available to them. The company supports local trade, as the local economy needs to be cherished - it is the bedrock of the financial system.
