Origins
Origins products are manufactured using a combination of renewable resources, wind energy and earth-friendly practices.
Origins' manufacturing facilities have installed Environmental Management Systems that comply with the International Organization for Standardization , which are designed to improve environmental performance and avoid or reduce adverse environmental impacts over time. Origins packaging is made from 80% Forest Stewardship Council certified paperboard and 50% post-consumer recycled fibre, and these materials are made using wind power or hydro power. Origins uses approximately 307,396 lbs of this paper instead of virgin fibre, preserving 1475 trees for the future and saving 626,735 gallons of wastewater flow.
Origins has been recognised as one of the top 30 companies by the United States Environmental Protection Agencys Green Power Partnership as a result of its purchasing of 100% green power.
The Origins Reduce, Reuse, Recycle program encouraged consumers to bring back old cosmetic tubes, tubs and bottles- regardless of brand- to their nearest Origins counter. All returned packaging is sent back to a central location where products will be recycled or used for energy recovery and ensuring they stay clear of landfills. Since its launch the scheme has recycled 17,000 pounds of cosmetic packaging.
