The privately owned restaurant started its sustainable and innovative movement on delivering food back in 2008. The chain is known for its contemporary designed restaurants and equally stylish dishes presented with the upmost care. Drake & Morgan are committed to delivering great food and service whilst giving back to society and making sure sustainability is at the top of all of their agendas.
The chain supports a variety of charities. Profit made from certain dishes is donated to Hauser bears, a charity committed to support ‘temple bears’ in Thailand; all male staff at each restaurant supports Movember and raise money for male specific health diseases, such as prostate cancer; money is raised to help those affected by the disease for Breast Cancer Awareness.
The focal point of the chain is its lasting connection with sustainability.
The restaurants follow a five-point action to help them strive towards a more sustainable alternative to food preparation and service: to educate staff on ecology by taking visits to ecologically managed farms and allotments; targets are set to reduce energy consumption; local charities are supported on an annual basis; schools are visited to share skills and to educate children on sustainable living and to finally educate their customers on sustainable living.
Drake & Morgan have won several awards and statuses, including: receiving the Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA) champion status - the highest possible award; shortlisted for the best bar in the London Lifestyle Awards and winner of the Restaurant & Bar Design Award for the best standalone bar.
