CRED Jewellery
Greg Valerio founded CRED Jewellery in 1996 after wanting to combine his love for fairtrade and ethical practice into the beauty of design – particularly jewellery.
Greg’s fairtrade and fairmined company gives consumers the opportunity to be ethical and sustainable, whilst being able to buy the same high quality (in some cases higher) jewellery. CRED also uses 100% recycled material in a selection of their designs, including gold, platinum and silver.
CRED Jewellery’s pearls are supplied from Jersey Pearl, who produces carbon neutral pearls. They offset their carbon footprint by supporting green and sustainable energy plants that supply the Chinese pearl farms with energy; making sure their impact upon the climate is as minimal as possible.
The jewellers were the first European retailer to sell certified fairtrade gold and the world’s first ethical wedding ring, reaching both ethical and sustainable standards.
All diamonds used with CRED are put through the Kimberley Process. This ensures all profit from buying diamonds from countries such as Africa, are non-conflict and are not funding any violent endeavours. Furthermore, they work with the Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM), to ensure the diamonds are Fairtrade and responsibly sourced and processed.
They have been featured in various print and online publications including the Sunday Telegraph and Metro.
