Campi ya Kanzi
Located at the foot of the legendary Chyulu Hills, the Green Hills of Africa, community eco lodge, Campi ya Kanzi, is one of the most eco-awarded lodges in Africa. As well as utilising environment-friendly processes in the running of every lodge, they are also landlord to the local Masaai community and have a long-running engagement with them.
Built in partnership with the Maasai community of Kuku Group Ranch, Campi ya Kanzi has a unique commitment to community development and environmental sustainability through tourism. They employ locally, paying tourism revenues directly to the community and running the most ecologically responsible lodge in all of East Africa. The lodge also funds Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust through its conservation fees.
Five-star luxury combined with an authentic immersion in Masaai culture and wilderness adventure, Campi ya Kanzi has been awarded the Five-Leaf Certification for excellence in environmental sustainability by online rating organisation Five-Leaf System.
Campi ya Kanzi’s most recent partnership is with Pack for a Purpose, an organisation that partners with tourist destinations to allow guests to bring supplies that are desperately needed by the local communities. For Campi ya Kanzi this means visiting guests can bring school supplies for Kanzi Academy and other Maasai schools on the Kuku Group Ranch.
The Camp has been built with the lowest environmental impact, using thatched roofs, lava rocks, local materials and Masai skills. More then 50 different mammals and 400 bird species are found on the ranch, promising an uncompromised safari camping experience.
