Founded in 2009 by Allard Marx and Susannah Stewart, Aethic Sôvée is a marine positive suncream that has been formulated to keep skin soft as well as safe. Aethic Sôvée is the first sunscreen in the world to gain a Marine Positive certification.
Aethic Sôvée combines a broad spectrum protection from UV sun rays, is photostable (i.e remains fully functional when subjected to UV sun rays) and leaves sensitive marine life such as corals and clams totally unharmed.

In 2008, Prof. Roberto Danovaro published his scientific study in National Geographic and The Times proving that most sunscreens kill coral. He was approached to work with Aethic and he liked the aquatrail and marine positive put forward by Allard and Susannah so much that he promptly agreed to collaborate. Through him and his team at Marche Polytechnic University, the aquatrail acquired a scientific basis and is now the definitive and only formula for assigning a monetary damage value to water pollution. Prof. Danovaro and his team did all the marine testing. First testing every single ingredient to select those that were the most eco-compatible and then the entire finished product.

Susannah now leads Marine Positive and Allard took up the reigns at Aethic.
