The Hindu festival of light, Diwali, may not be all that familiar to many of us but Dishoom, the high-end Bombay cafe in London’s Covent Garden, has teamed up with the DSC South Asian Literature Festival to bring the festival to life with food, face painting and storytelling.
Between the 18th and 30th October, Dishoom will be offering a delectable Diwali menu featuring, amongst a wide selection of other choices; grilled lobster tail, the restaurant’s famous cocktails and a chicken berry biryani.
Sunday 23rd of October is family day with pavement chalk painting, Vayu Naidu- who recently performed at the Barbican- recounting the tales behind the festival and an evening screening of the multi-award winning animated film Sita Sings the Blues.
